Welcome to the “Panorama Paradise”
Opens on July 9, 2011
As a tourist region the Schneeberg has existed longer than almost any other in Lower Austria. For over 115 years the Schneebergbahn has been making its way up the mountain – cog by cog.
As early as 1897, the Schneeberg was a rendezvous for nobility and middle class alike: ‘see and be seen’ was the motto of the day.
A fusion of the old and the new is what the "Panorama Paradise" is all about. You too can take a leisurely stroll along expansive paths at 1800 m above sea level.
Encounter here the summit of culture, no matter what the weather, and enjoy the view across the plateau to the Elisabethkircherl chapel.
At the heart of all events is the Bergbahnhof, the mountain station that has been remodelled to house an art gallery – topping all galleries in Austria.
A majestic panorama, with a view reaching as far as the Hungarian plain, Slovakia, the Rax mountain, the Bucklige Welt region and even into the province of Styria.
Benches are available along the way, from where you can observe the alpine wildlife of the Schneeberg.
Discover (or rediscover) your inner balance, find peace and calm in the tranquility of the peak. Map of circuit trail |
