Sunrise on the highest mountain in Lower Austria
Drive up the highest mountain in Lower Austria before dawn and experience the breathtaking sunrise in the Hochschneeberg mountain area. Enjoy nature and tranquillity at 1,800 metres above sea level, including a unique panoramic view as far as the Vienna Basin and the Pannonian Plain. Afterwards, take the comfortable Salamander train or enjoy a sporty walk downhill to Baumgartner station, where a hearty mountain breakfast awaits you.

Please arrive at the tourism portal at Puchberg station at least 20 minutes before your departure.
Procedure & included services
- Ascent with the Salamander train to the Hochschneeberg mountain railway station
- Experience thesunrise at 1,800 metres above sea level. On fine days, a unique panoramic view as far as the Vienna Basin and the Pannonian Plain awaits you.
- Descent with the Salamander train (approx. 10 minutes) or hike (approx. 45-60 minutes) to Baumgartner station
- Hearty mountain breakfast at the Baumgartner station
- Optional return ascent to the mountain railway station (then free choice of descent or early descent from Baumgartner station)
