Sunrise on the highest mountain in Lower Austria
Drive up to Lower Austria's highest mountain before dawn and experience the breathtaking sunrise in the Hochschneeberg mountain area. Enjoy nature and tranquillity at 1,800 metres above sea level, complete with a unique panoramic view stretching all the way to the Vienna Basin and the Pannonian Plain. Afterwards, take the Salamander train or hike down to the Baumgartner station, where a hearty mountain breakfast awaits you.
Timetable: Every Friday from 3 July to 28 August
Please arrive at the tourist information centre at Puchberg station at least 20 minutes before your departure.

Procedure & included services
- Ascent with the Salamander train to the Hochschneeberg mountain station
- Experience the sunrise at 1,800 metres above sea level
- Take the Salamander train back to Baumgartner station.
- Enjoy a hearty mountain breakfast at Baumgartner station
- Take the Salamander train back up the mountain and spend the day on the Schneeberg, or start your descent directly from Baumgartner station.

Booking information
Tickets for the Alpine Sunrise are available online in the web shop up to 24 hours before departure. If the allocation is fully booked, tickets excluding breakfast may be available – please contact us by telephone for more information.

Please note: Package deal – The Schneeberg-Rax combination ticket and the Lower Austria CARD cannot be accepted for this offer.
